In the current situation, not only is there a higher possibility of unpleasant incidents occurring at the border, but a threat also looms within the country. To handle such an unpleasant incident, a mock drill was conducted on Friday afternoon at the Farakka Barrage Project in Murshidabad district, involving the BSF, CISF, state police, intelligence department, and health workers.
The Farakka Barrage Project on the Ganga River has established a vital connection between North Bengal and South Bengal. Given its strategic importance, the barrage remains a critical point of focus for national security and emergency preparedness.
In the drill conducted today, both security personnel and the general public were trained on how to respond in case of an unpleasant incident at the international-level Farakka Barrage Project. The exercise aimed to enhance coordination among agencies and raise awareness among civilians regarding emergency protocols.
